Over the past 10 years long snapping has dramatically grown in popularity, which has led to the growth of talent in the position. That said, the requirements to be a Division 1 Long Snapper has also grown. D1 Coaches are placing heavy importance on what else a long snapper can do in addition to his long snapping abilities. Coaches look to see if the long snapper has the ability to run down field and be a threat, the agility and footwork to be able to snap and block, the strength and reliable body weight to be able to withstand a grueling season.
This is why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for long snappers to place a large focus on their athleticism and start attending TheSpeedSchool.Net's Sunday Strength & Agility Program. TheSpeedSchool.Net will be holding TWO Strength & Agility Groups tailored to Long Snappers on Sundays during the hours of 1:30PM and 3:30PM while Coach Nolan Owen will be holding private long snapping lessons.
