NOLS Snappers & Family,
Despite the rocky start to Sunday's Group Lessons, we saw dramatic improvements by the end of the lesson! Every snapper finished with their personal best snaps to date. That said, great work every one of you for pushing through and not letting a shaky start determine how the remainder of the session was going to go!
This reminds me of how the game against the University of Illinois went my SR year at NIU. I had possibly the worst Warm-Up in my career, with snaps high-low-left-right, just flat out not Division 1 college long snapper material. I went back into the locker room right before the start of the game, took a moment to reflect on the basics, remembered how far I had come, and gathered myself to regain composure. I said a quick prayer to trust that I was there for a reason... I stepped out of that locker room and went on to have the Best Game of My Career!
Learn from your mistakes, don't dwell on them, use them to build character. Persevere beyond adversity and be determined to reach your goals!
Snapper Week #6 Improvements ONE BY ONE for Illinois:
Abrell, Erik -- Increased snap accuracy and snap speed, form fundamentals, proper stance alignment, stance balance and level, quickness of operation, and confidence.
Bareis, Will -- Increased snap speed, fluidity of form, leg drive direction, stance balance, leg drive balance, and routine confidence.
Boyle, Camden -- Increased snap speeds, increased pin point accuracy derived from proper stance alignment, nailed down routine, confidence, stance balance, and leg drive balance.
Castro, Dylan -- Nailed down pin point accuracy through refining stance routine, stance balance, leg drive balance, and explosiveness in snap.
Hokkanen III, Jerry -- Increased snap to snap consistency and snap speed through the emphasis on leg extension, proper stance balance, leg drive balance, and confidence in routine.
Lowe, Nathan -- Increased snap speed, spiral, proper stance alignment, follow through fundamentals, and explosiveness of legs and hands.
Tabel, Ethan -- Corrected timing and routine flaws, proper stance level, leg drive balance, aggression with snapping motion, and follow through.
